A variety of places, prices for ringing in the new year

If you haven’t made plans for New Year’s Eve yet, here is a sampling of places where you can celebrate it a variety of ways, and at a variety of price points, in Wichita:

•  Hyatt Regency, 400 W. Waterman: $249 gets a couple a room for the night, dinner buffet, music by Big Fat Fun, a champagne toast at midnight in the Grand Eagle ballroom and a breakfast buffet the next morning. •  Prairie Rose Chuckwagon, 15231 SW Parallel St., Benton: This is a destination for families who want to participate in the New Year’s festivities but still be home at a decent hour. $40 a person will include horse-drawn wagon rides, a movie, access to the Silver Screen Cowboy Museum, live music and dinner. •  Loft 150, 150 N. Mosley: For $10 a single or $15 a pair, Loft 150 will have its annual celebration with local band King Me. Party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. The kitchen will be open until 10 p.m. For more information, call 316-263-2739.

•  Quincy’s Bar and Grill, 2047 N. West St., will have a prime rib dinner for two for $29.98 and a champagne toast at midnight. There is no cover charge, but diners must be 21 or older. For reservations, call 316-942-8200.

•  Bite Me BBQ, 132 N. St. Francis, will have a party featuring local band Rain. Cover charge is $20 and includes a champagne toast at midnight. Show begins at 9 p.m. For reservations, call 316-729-2904.

•  The Loony Bin, 6140 E. 21st St., will host two shows featuring comedian Michael Mack. Cover charge is $15 for the 7 p.m. show and $25 for the 10 p.m. show. •  The Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview, 400 W. Douglas: Opportunities here range from $48 per couple to $229. The lower end of the spectrum includes party and dance with band Mumblin’ Jones and a champagne toast at midnight. For information and reservations, call 316-262-5000.

•  Rock Island Live, 101 N. Rock Island: $10 will gain you access to this event featuring band Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy as well as the Calamity Cubes. Music begins at 10 p.m.; must be 21 years old. For more information, call 316-303-9800.

•  Oeno, 33 N. Mead: Oeno will have a Midnight Eve Masquerade that begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 a person and include a seafood ice bar and food buffet as well as a live DJ and champagne toast at midnight. For reservations, call 316-440-5000.

•  Ambassador Hotel, 104 S. Broadway: The proceeds from this grand-opening event will go to the revitalization of the Orpheum. Tickets start at $175 and include wine, beer, signature cocktails and a dinner buffet. Entertainment will include the band 3 Ring Circus as well as Quixotic, a dance troupe from Kansas City.
