Correction: An earlier version of this story contained the wrong date Turner was found and misspelled his name.

Wichita police are asking for the public’s help as they try to determine what led to the death of a man who was found lying the middle of the road south of downtown Wichita on Christmas Eve.

Lt. Joe Schroeder said police have ruled out initial reports that Brian D. Turner, 42, was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Turner was found lying in the 1400 block of South Market about 10 p.m. Monday, Schroeder said.

Sedgwick County medical examiners are trying to determine the cause of Turner’s death, Schroeder said. Anyone who saw Turner in the area on Monday night is being asked to call detectives at 268-4181.
