On an overcast, dreary December day, I found a ray of sunshine in the form of a lone, bright-yellow dandelion bloom among my dried, brown leaves. Usually, I don’t get pleasure from the sight of a dandelion, but seeing it made me smile. Thank you, Mother Nature.

Pearl Harbor will always be a vivid memory for one who was 7 years old at the time. Americans immediately banded together as a unified nation and did all we were able, in order to support the armed forces. Americans owe our freedom to those forces to this day.
I have a problem with the title of “Greatest Generation.” I respect their service and they are great. But the title leaves no room for future greatness. The boys and girls fighting overseas among people who hate us today deserve many thanks, and respect as great as that for the “Greatest Generation.”
