Fire damages house in northwest Wichita

Fire damaged a house in northwest Wichita on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The fire was reported shortly before 4:40 p.m. at 1630 N. Rutgers, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. That’s northwest of 13th and Maize Road.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the chimney, KFDI Radio reports. A man and two children were able to get out of the house and no injuries were reported, the dispatch supervisor said.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
