Allen edges Thunder with overtime goal

Scotty Howes scored a power-play goal in overtime to give Allen a 3-2 win over the Thunder on Saturday night in Allen, Texas.

The Thunder’s Dave Inman was sent off from tripping at 3:12 of the overtime period. Howes scored the game-winner 18 seconds later.

The Thunder took a 1-0 lead late in the second period on a power play goal by Kevin Young. Allen tied the score early in the third period and went ahead 2-1 with just more than eight minutes to play. The Thunder drew even on a goal by Chad Painchaud less than a minute later.
