Michelle Price’s layup with 10 seconds left was the winning basket as the Wichita State women’s basektball team beat SMU 61-59 on Saturday in Dallas.

The Shockers trailed by 16 points late in the first half and were down 31-18 at halftime, making 7 of 26 shots (26.9 percent) in the half and committing 14 turnovers.

The Shockers rallied in the second half by making 18 of 31 shots (58.1 percent) and turning the ball over just four times. There were 12 lead changes in the game’s final seven minutes. WSU went ahead 59-57 on a three-point shot basket by Jessica Diamond. SMU scored to pull even, setting up Price’s go-ahead basket with 10 seconds left. SMU’s Destiny Hives-McCray was fouled with 3.5 seconds left but missed the front end of a one-and-one, and SMU (8-3) was unable to get off another shot before the buzzer.
