Manny the Free Spirit, a 10-month-old male shepherd mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

I'm an ambitious, young dog looking to make your days full of fun. I'm hoping to share my life with a hard-working, confident and full-of-pep human. I look forward to being your best friend. Come down to KHS and visit with me today.

Also available:

• Smokey the Busy Bee, 7-year-old female Labrador retriever mix

I’m the wisest dog you’ll meet. I’ve learned many things through my days. I know that being nice on a leash is the best way to go on more walks, and that doing good things results in many treats. You should meet with me at KHS today. I can share all my wisdom with you.

•  Rudolph the Kitten, 3-month-old male kitten, domestic medium-hair mix

I hope you like to play. I’m a big fan of playing. I also hope you don’t mind me sleeping in the same spot on the sofa for a while. I bet we’ll have a blast growing together. Come to KHS and visit with me.

•  Miss Kitty the Leader of the Band, 9-month-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

I’m quite the active cat. I like playing with mice-shaped toys, but my favorite are the moving strings. I can never quite catch them. I will one day, though. Come to KHS and visit with me today. We can have lots of fun playing together.

•  Butterfly the Sidekick, 5-year-old female cat, domestic long-hair mix

I’m called Butterfly for my elegant looks. Wouldn’t it be nice to befriend such a gorgeous cat? You should visit me at KHS. I’ll be even prettier in person.
