Crennel denies he’s been told he’ll be gone when season ends

Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel denied a report that he has been told he would be fired at season’s end.

“I have not,’’ Crennel said. “I told you my future is week-to-week. What I’ve been concentrating on is Sunday’s game. That’s all I know about it.

“I don’t deal with rumors. If you can put a name to the rumor, then that’s something else. But anybody can start a rumor.’’

Multiple Chiefs sources confirmed neither Crennel nor general manager Scott Pioli have been told what, if anything, awaits them when the season is over.

But the Chiefs have a 2-12 record, tied with Jacksonville for worst in the NFL. So both of their jobs appear to be in jeopardy.
