Mayor Carl Brewer has declared this week “Black and Gold Week,” and is encouraging Wichitans to support the Wichita State University men’s basketball team in its game Saturday.

The Shockers will play the University of Southern Mississippi at Intrust Bank Arena.

Fans are encouraged to wear WSU’s black and gold colors through Saturday. As a part of the community support, Intrust Bank Arena is being called the “House of Shock” and a street near the arena will be briefly renamed “Shocker Way.”

The game begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are still available. For more information visit goshockers.com.
