The new Bethany College at Mindfire Academy is open for enrollment, school officials said in a news release.
It will launch career education programs for 3D animation, digital filmmaking, audio production and Web design on Jan. 28 at its East Harry facility in the west end of the Office This building.
“It’s starting to look like a cross between an educational institution and a Hollywood film studio,” said school administrator Jason Opat.
The school includes five classrooms and 27-inch iMac workstations loaded with industry-current software. It has a studio stocked with lights, cameras and a large green screen.
Bethany College at MindFire Academy will initially offer six certificates: 3-D Computer Modeling, 3-D Computer Animation, Digital Filmmaking, Digital Documentary Filmmaking, Web Design and Audio Recording.
Each is earned with four to five classes, or 12 to 15 credit hours, taken over seven weeks. Two classes may be taken at a time, allowing students to complete a certificate in the time of a traditional college semester. Class costs include Bethany’s per-credit-hour tuition of $460 plus MindFire technology and lab fees.
