Wichita State’s Carl Hall injures hand during practice

Wichita State center Carl Hall injured his hand during practice Saturday, although the seriousness of the injury is not known.

Hall is scheduled to see a doctor on Monday, according to WSU.

Hall leads WSU with averages of 13.9 points and 7.6 rebounds. He tied a season-high with 21 points in Thursday’s 69-60 loss at Tennessee and grabbed nine rebounds.

WSU plays Charleston Southern on Thursday at Koch Arena.

WSU’s injury report also includes center Ehimen Orukpe, who played seven minutes against Tennessee. He missed three previous games with a sprained right ankle. Guard Evan Wessel has missed two games with a broken right pinky finger.

Hall, a senior from Cochran, Ga., was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year last season. He averaged 8.4 points and 5.0 rebounds, starting 19 games.
