Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.

This mother of two young boys has been hit with medical bills and is trying to hang on to her house.

It began when her annual Pap smear test came back positive. Her doctor wanted her to return several times for retesting, and the costs weren’t covered by her insurance. But she had to pay those bills before doctors would check for cervical cancer. She already was behind in other bills and in her house payment.

”I was scared I’d get cancer and not be here for my two sons,” she wrote in her application.

Then her youngest son fractured his wrist, meaning more medical bills.

Now, she is very behind in her house payment, she said.

She has told her parents of her plight and is hoping they will be able to help as well.

“It would take a great burden off my shoulders if you could just help me with my house payment so I don’t lose it,” she said.

So far, Share the Season has raised $138,953.
