Wichita native and sometime resident Kirstie Alley, who most recently appeared on Dancing With the Stars: All Stars, will be in Wichita on Wednesday for a signing of her new book, The Art of Men (I Prefer Mine Al Dente). The signing will be at 6 p.m. at Watermark Books & Café, 4701 E. Douglas. Friendships, family, love and more are highlighted in the collection of essays, which addressed Alleys relationships with stars such as John Travolta, Ted Danson, Patrick Swayze, Woody Allen and many others. Experience the Aurora
Exploration Place at 300 N. McLean Blvd. will debut a new show in its Boeing Dome Theater and Planetarium on Saturday. The film, Experience the Aurora, will run through June 16. It explains how the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights are formed and was filmed over a seven-month period in the Arctic Circle. Running and caroling
Wichita State University is putting on a 5k Canta Carol Run starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday outside of Wichita State Universitys Duerksen Fine Arts Center. The race is an effort to raise funds for WSU opera students to participate in the WSU Canta in Italia study abroad program. The route circles around WSUs campus and will have carolers and Santa stationed along the way. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Duerksen Fine Arts Center lobby, and the race starts at 9:30. Registration fee is $30 before Saturday at www.wichita.edu/cantarun and $40 the day of the event and includes a long-sleeved T-shirt, gift bag and snacks.
