— Gov. Sam Brownback will deliver his state of the state address Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m., his administration announced Thursday.

The annual speech is often used to unveil major plans. Last year, Brownback used the opportunity to announce his plan to cut income taxes and eliminate several popular tax credits and deductions.

This time, many expect Brownback to again discuss changes to the tax code as well as share his strategy for dealing with a sharp decline in revenue forecast because of income tax cuts he signed into law in 2012.

Brownback’s speech will be televised live by KPTS-TV, and readers can check Kansas.com for analysis and response.
