Kansas City police are looking for a gunman who opened fire at two groups of people leaving a nightclub early today.

Bullets struck two men and two women. All are expected to survive, police said.

Witnesses said the gunman was standing on a nearby corner sidewalk wearing black clothing when he shot the victims. Police recovered multiple shell casings from the sidewalk.

One man was struck in the left arm and his friend was hit in the upper leg. A woman with them was uninjured.

Two other women showed up at a hospital. One suffered a graze wound to the back of her head. The other woman sustained serious injuries to her abdomen.

Police said they were unaware of any disturbances that preceded the shooting. The victims also told police they didn’t know why anyone would want to shoot at them. Detectives were still trying to identify which victim was the intended target.
