Police seek help finding tools stolen from garage

  • Published Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 2:07 p.m.

Wichita police are asking for help solving a weekend burglary in which nearly $25,000 worth of power tools were taken from a garage.

The burglary was reported Saturday afternoon in the 300 block of South Wind Rose Lake, near Goddard.

Police believe sometime overnight Friday, burglars forced open a roll-up door on the garage and took a 5 foot by 3 foot by 4 foot blue Snap-On rollaway tool box valued at $5,000, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

Inside the tool box was $15,000 worth of Snap-On tools.

In addition, the burglars took two Ricardo leather seats valued at $1,000 each, a blue Miller welder valued at $2,000 and multiple other power tools.

“The complete loss was upwards to $25,000,” Brunscheen said. “The main reason we are putting this out is that type of loss with that good of a description, there may be somebody who comes across or sees it. If they could alert police, it might lead us to solving the crime.”

If anyone has information on the case, they can call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
