Geison’s OT goal gets Wings a victory

Geison scored an unassisted goal almost seven minutes into overtime to push the Wings past host Syracuse 12-10 on Saturday night in an Major Indoor Soccer League game.

Wichita (2-5) also got a hat trick from Matt Clare, including the game-tying three-point goal with 2:27 to play in the fourth quarter.

Clare pushed the Wings to a 5-0 first-quarter lead. He scored 98 seconds into the game and followed almost 10 minutes later with a three-point goal. Both were unassisted.

Syracuse pulled within a point by halftime, then sandwiched two goals around Geison’s unassisted third-period goal for an 8-7 lead.

Wichita next plays at Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday night.
