K-9 Karma Animal Advocates, a Wichita-based dog rescue and adoption group, will participate in a food drive for dogs on Dec. 15 at All Paws Pet Centers in Wichita and Derby.
The food drive, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is sponsored by New York Life agent Gabriel Markley and will collect pet food and money to help feed homeless and hungry dogs in the Wichita area. Financial assistance or donations of any unopened, unexpired, quality wet or dry dog food will be accepted at All Paws stores at 1444 N. Maize Road; 2250 N. Rock Road, Suite 110; and 1821 E. Madison Ave. in Derby.
The food will go to dogs in K-9 Karmas rescue program or to families for whom extra help feeding a pet can make the difference in whether or not they have to give up the pet.
Also, on Dec. 15 and 16, proceeds from pet photos with Santa at PetSmart West, 533 S. Tracy, will go to K-9 Karma. The photos will be taken from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Money raised will help the all-volunteer nonprofit group provide medical care for homeless dogs in the program.
