Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.

Christmas for this family of five is not going to be easy.

A few months ago, the 36-year-old father of three had to leave his job because of a severe back injury. He needs surgery, but without insurance his ruptured disks will go without treatment.

The family’s only source of income comes from the 26-year-old mother, and her schedule has been cut back. She’s unable to afford the family’s monthly utilities and other expenses, let alone Christmas presents for her children, ages 3, 4 and 5.

“We were not sure if we would even be able to afford Christmas for them due to our bills and being behind on rent,” she said.

“Any bit of help would be greatly appreciated,” the mother said in her application. “God bless all of you for what you do for families in need.”

So far, Share the Season has raised $96,665.
