Home prices rise 2.1 percent in October in Wichita area

Wichita area home prices, including distressed sales, were 2.1 percent higher in October than in October 2011, according to CoreLogic, a national real estate analysis firm.

A distressed sale is a short sale or other sale forced by financial difficulty.

Excluding distressed sales, the year-over-year price increase in the Wichita area was 4.9 percent in October.
