Sedgwick County Manager William Buchanan has received an award from the International City/County Management Association.
Buchanan, county manager since 1991, was among 13 local governments and four people to be recognized for outstanding contributions to the profession of local government management, a news release said.
More than 90 nominees were reviewed by a 17-member panel, the release said.
Buchanan received a professional award for career development.
