What began as an argument over a football game on TV quickly escalated Saturday night when a 45-year-old man was stabbed three times by his older brother, police said.

Wichita police were called to the 1100 block of North Terrace at 8:50 p.m. Saturday as the younger brother was rushed to Wesley Medical Center in serious condition, according to Sgt. Scott Brunow, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

A father and sister of the two brothers told police they saw the older brother, age 49, stab his brother, Brunow said.

Police took the 49-year-old man into custody at the family home on charges of aggravated battery.
