Saturday is the final day for area residents to apply for holiday assistance through Operation Holiday.
Applications will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Operation Holiday Distribution Center, 2021 N. Amidon. The center is the only application site open Saturday. It’s located south of 21st Street in New Leaf Plaza, formerly Marina Lakes shopping center.
Operation Holiday — overseen by Inter-Faith Ministries — provides help to the needy during the holiday season. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 (or an emancipated 17-year-old with court documents), live in or around Sedgwick County and have not requested assistance through other holiday assistance programs. They must provide ID and birthdates for all household members, proof of address and income and a telephone number where they may be contacted.
