Two Wichita-area students and one from Salina have been named Klose Scholars at Wichita State University.

WSU officials announced Friday that Laura Brockmeyer, a senior at Wichita Heights High School; Shannon Crow, of Valley Center High School; and Lydia Newquist, of Salina South High School, were finalists in the Klose Scholarship Competition for the 2013-14 academic year.

The Doris and Ralph Klose Scholarship covers the finalists’ tuition, books and fees for their junior and senior years at WSU.

To compete for the scholarship, high school seniors must apply to WSU, declare a math or science education major in the College of Education, have a minimum 3.5 GPA and an ACT composite score of at least 24.
