Burglars drive car into southeast Wichita pawn shop

Police are looking for four people who backed a vehicle through the front doors of a southeast Wichita pawn shop early Tuesday morning and stole several thousand dollars worth of merchandise.

The burglary occurred at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday at A-OK Pawn Shop at 1547 S. Oliver, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said. Surveillance video shows a silver 4-door sedan backed into the glass doors of the pawn shop, and four people going inside.

Among the property stolen was jewelry and several laptop computers, Nolte said. Officers responded to a security alarm, but the burglars were gone by the time they arrived.

Investigators are reviewing security video for clues, Nolte said, but anyone who has information on this incident is encouraged to call 911.
