Cheri Nienke’s one-of-a-kind articles of clothing will be highlighted in an exhibit opening Saturday at the Andover Public Library Art Gallery.

Nienke, who is also the assistant director of the library, often takes items she finds for sale from thrift shops, antique stores and estate sales and combines them with hand-dyed colors, hand-stitched appliqués and beading.

In the past few years, she has donated embellished and hand-stitched corsets and bustiers to local fundriasers for breast cancer.

The art gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Her exhibit ends Dec. 31.

For more information, contact the library at 316-558-3500.
