Per capita personal income in the Wichita area rose 4.41 percent in 2011, according to the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis.
That was a solid rebound from the weakness of 2009 and 2010. Income per person rose 0.42 percent per person in 2010 and fell 8.28 percent in 2009.
Personal income includes wages and benefits, rents and dividends, and the incomes of sole proprietorships and partnerships.
The groups seeing the biggest gains in 2011 were farmers and non-farm business owners.
