Colorado legalizes marijuana. Meanwhile, across the border, Lane County legalizes liquor by the drink. Welcome to 2012 and 1960, respectively.

Republicans say they want to return their country to the intentions of our forefathers. Did they study history? Our forefathers counted only white landowners as “equal,” not women, black slaves or Native Americans. They did not count everyone as equal and free, regardless of what Thomas Jefferson wrote.

The Bush tax cuts have been around for 10 years. Exactly how long was it going to take for them to start creating jobs?

Thanks to the good people who helped me when my car stopped while turning on Douglas and Rock, especially the military serviceman and young lady who came back to see if I was all right while waiting for the tow truck.
