Delano home tour next week

The Delano Bed and Breakfast and an above-business apartment will be decorated for Christmas and open for tours as part of Christmas in Delano on Dec. 1. The tour will be at the bed and breakfast at 305 S. Elizabeth and in the second-floor apartment at 9231/2 W. Douglas, above Oldies-n-Goodies Antiques. The free tour will be from 1 to 5 p.m., and a free trolley ride between the homes will be available from 1 to 3 p.m.

Activities are scheduled at various Delano businesses, including visits to Santa. A ceremony of the lighting of the clock tower will be at 5 p.m., and fireworks and a parade of boats will take place on the river at 6:10 p.m. Starting at 1 p.m., there will be entertainment at the clock tower, and coffee and hot chocolate for those who donate clothing, toys and food for charity. Designer to sign ornaments

A designer of Biedermann Christmas ornaments will be at two Johnson’s Garden Center stores on Friday to autograph the ornaments.

Next-generation artist Martin Biedermann will be at 21st and Woodlawn from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and at the 2707 W. 13th St. location from 3 to 6 p.m. Master cutter Georg Neumaier will accompany him. The gold-dipped Biedermann ornaments are made in Germany.
