Assistant commissioner leaving state Insurance Department

Bob Tomlinson, the Kansas Insurance Department’s assistant commissioner, is leaving to become the director of the Kansas Office of Administrative Hearings, the state Insurance Department announced Wednesday in a news release.

Tomlinson will begin his new job on Dec. 3.

Before joining the Insurance Department in 2003, he served six terms in the Kansas House of Representatives, where he also served as chairman of the House Insurance Committee.

His successor has not been named, Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger said in the release.
