Augusta man sentenced to 16 years for meth conviction

An Augusta man has been sentenced to more than 16 years in federal prison for a drug conviction, authorities said Monday.

Thomas E. Church, 54, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a prepared statement. Church was also ordered to forfeit three handguns and $7,810 in drug money.
