The Dog House Carryout in the 1600 block of South Meridian has been closed for three weeks due to the bad economy.

But burglars drove a car through the front door sometime overnight Friday and stole an empty floor safe, took an empty cash register and computers and attempted to break into an ATM in the restaurant’s lobby.

The owner contacted police shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Police are investigating the case, said Wichita police Sgt. Scott Brunow.

So far, police do not have any suspects or vehicle information.
