Pittsburg hospital to break ground for surgery center

Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg has announced it will break ground on its new 40,000-square-foot surgery center at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 on the southeast lawn of the hospital, 1 Mt. Carmel Way in Pittsburg.

The project is the largest expansion of the hospital since it was built in 1971. The new surgery center will include five operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms and one minor procedure room.

The general contractor for the project is Crossland Construction Company of Columbus.
