Thunder earns road win at Fort Worth

Les Reaney scored one first-period goal and added a pair of assists as the Wichita Thunder cruised to a 6-2 road win at Fort Worth.

Reaney scored 14:57 into the game on an assist from Nathan Lutz.

The Thunder took a 2-1 lead after the first period, but opened up the scoring with three goals in the second from Dave Inman, Greger Hanson and Matt Summers.

Fort Worth’s goals were scored by Adam Hogg and Tomas Klempa.

The Thunder had 16 penalty minutes, but allowed Fort Worth to score on only one of seven power-play opportunities.

Wichita took just 22 shots, but converted on six of them.

It was Wichita’s fifth win in six games, with the lone loss in that stretch coming at home to Rapid City on Saturday night.

Wichita returns home for a pair of games this weekend. It hosts Quad City on Friday and Arizona on Saturday.
