— Inits regular-season debut, the Kansas State women’s basketball team survived a tough test from Idaho State for a 62-54 victory on Friday at Bramlage Coliseum.

“It feels good to get our first win of the season against a team that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season, that was Big Sky champions,” K-State coach Deb Patterson said. “It’s good for our team because we’re still trying to understand what kind of a team we are and the way we want to play.”

K-State started four guards and Brittany Chambers led the Wildcats with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Haley Texada came off the bench for K-State to score 11 points.
