Powwow at Indian Center to honor veterans

All veterans are encouraged to attend the Intertribal Warrior Society Veteran’s Powwow from 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mid-American All-Indian Center, 650 N. Seneca.

Saturday will feature gourd dancing from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 6:30 p.m., with a dinner break in between. The grand entry begins at 6:30 p.m., and the night will conclude with intertribal dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday will feature gourd dancing from 1 to 6 p.m.

The powwow is free for all ages. Admission to the museum is $1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The Indian Center will be closed Sunday. Food will be available for purchase. No alcohol will be permitted. For more information, call 316-350-3340.
