Authorities have identified the woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Cowley County on Wednesday afternoon.
Diana Langley, 47, of Grenola was a passenger in a Dodge Grand Caravan heading east on U.S. 160 less than a mile west of Cambridge just before 4 p.m. Wednesday when the driver slowed for a vehicle turning south into a private drive, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
A Volkswagen Jetta slammed into the back of the minivan, killing Langley. The driver of the Jetta, 16-year-old Morgan Bailey-Whiteman of Cambridge, told authorities she didn’t see the SUV slow down.
She was taken to William Newton Hospital in Winfield for treatment. The driver of the minivan, 81-year-old Harvey Anderson of Grenola, was not injured.
Langley and Anderson were wearing their seatbelts, according to a highway patrol accident report, but Bailey-Whiteman was not.
