WICHITA — Hutchinson-based Lowen Corp., which has an IT division in Wichita, is acquiring Iowa-based Image Transform Ltd.

Lowen is a 62-year-old graphics and sign company. Image Transform is a 39-year-old digital graphics and dye sublimation fabric printing company.

"It's basically taking the best of both worlds and making both companies stronger," says spokeswoman Jordan Walker.

She says the acquisition "is coming at a really good time."

"We're currently expanding in a lot of different product lines.”

Image Transform can print on fabric, which is something Lowen used to have to use an overseas company to do.

"Currently we have to go through a third party for that," Walker says. "Now, those types of products are going to be made in the U.S."

Consequently, she says, turnaround times will shorten.

The biggest change at Image Transform will be the name, Walker says. It will be known as Lowen Visual Imaging. Walker says there won't be any layoffs with the acquisition.
