A man walked into the Family Dollar store on South Woodlawn on Thursday night, told the clerk he was robbing him and took cash from the register before leaving, police said.

The crime occurred at about 8:20 p.m. at the store at 815 S. Woodlawn, police reports state. The suspect was described as a black man who is 6-feet-4 and 220 pounds. No injuries were reported.

Considering the differences in suspect descriptions, Lt. Doug Nolte said, police do not think the same person committed another robbery in the 800 block of South Woodlawn about an hour later on Thursday night.
