November dawns as October bowed out in Wichita pleasant conditions and unusually warm temperatures for this time of year.
Highs today will be in the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies, forecasters say. Winds should be light and variable, staying primarily in the single digits.
Overnight lows will slip into the upper 40s, with skies remaining mostly clear. Friday will be pretty toasty for early November, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-80s. In fact, the record for November 2 is likely to fall in Wichita, since the high mark is 80 set in 1978.
A cold front is projected to move through the region for the weekend, dropping temperatures 20 degrees to more seasonable readings, forecasters say. But it should remain dry and sunny.
