A Parsons day care provider’s license has been suspended after police found what they believe were drugs and drug paraphernalia in her home.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Tuesday issued an emergency suspension order against Bobbie Kaye Schulze, who operates homebased Bobbie Schulze Daycare, 3137 Stevens in Parsons. Parsons police asked KDHE to close the group childcare operation to “protect the health and safety of the children in care” after officers discovered possible drug materials on the property Monday, according to a filing from the KDHE. Officers were at the house to execute a search warrant.
Her day care license was effective June 1.
Schulze is required to give written notice to parents and guardians of the children she cared for that her license has been suspended, according to the filing. She also may request a hearing in response to KDHE’s order.
