Spirit and engineering union start contract talks

Spirit AeroSystems and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace started their main table discussions today, after weeks of subcommittee meetings.

There are 808 engineers in the unit.

Both sides will talk about non-economic issues this week and start discussion of economic issues next week, according to the union.

The current engineering contract expires Dec. 1.
