A 43-year-old pilot was injured Sunday morning when his ultra light aircraft crashed, 10 miles southeast of August in Butler County.
The accident happened at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Rodney Kenneth Beeton of Leon was attempting to take off when his Skycycle unexpectedly banked. The aircraft struck the road, hit a fence and then a tree.
The pilot was taken to Wesley Medical Center.
