A Wichita woman reported early Sunday her purse was taken as she loaded groceries into her car at the Dillons at Harry and Webb.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, she told police a man approached her and grabbed her purse. She tried to hold on, but he fled with her purse.
A witness told police he saw the man run into an apartment complex, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
When police investigated, they recovered the womans purse, which was missing some of its contents, and a coat and hat believed to have been worn by the man.
We are hopeful there might be some DNA on it that will lead back to the suspect, Brunscheen said.
Police think the man may also be linked to a robbery at Braums Ice Cream and Dairy that happened about the same time in the 1200 block of South Rock Road.
