Thunder loses another road game

The Wichita Thunder lost at Bloomington, Ill., for a second straight night, falling 3-2 to the Blaze on Saturday night.

The Thunder outshot the Blaze 48-32, but it took more than 50 minutes for Wichita to get its first goal. By then Bloomington led 3-0.

The Blaze took a 1-0 lead at 9:46 of the first period. Neither team scored again until the third, when Bloomington added two goals in a two-minute span early in the period to go ahead 3-0.

Wichita made it 3-1 on an unassisted goal by Dave Inman, then made it 3-2 on Ian Lowe’s goal at 15:2d of the third.

The Thunder’s Gregor Hanson was award a penalty shot in the first period after being pulled down while trying to split two defenders, but he missed on his attempt.

The Thunder wraps up its weekend road trip Sunday afternoon at Quad City.
