Police are searching for a man accused of threatening a 14-year-old girl who tried to stop him from beating her mother with a belt early Saturday.
Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said police received a domestic violence call in the 300 block of West 10th Street about 12:10 a.m.
The girl reported that her mothers boyfriend was upset with her after he used a belt buckle to whip her mother so hard the buckle separated from the belt. When the girl tried to intervene, she said her mothers boyfriend threatened to cut her with a pocketknife.
Brunscheen did not release the suspects name, but said a felony pickup was issued for his arrest.
