Police are searching for two people suspected of robbing an acquaintance of $30 early Saturday in southeast Wichita.

Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said a man was on South George Washington Boulevard near East Pawnee Street about 12:20 a.m. when he was offered a ride by a couple in a silver and burgundy Chevrolet Tahoe with Kansas license tags. Once inside the vehicle, the victim said the woman grabbed his wrist and the man grabbed $30 in cash from him.

The woman was described as black, medium build and about 5-foot-6. The man was described as black, in his 30s, about 5-7 and 170 pounds, and wearing olive drab clothing.

Brunscheen said police had names of the suspects, but did not release them. He said detectives are looking at surveillance video from a nearby business in hopes of gathering further evidence in the robbery.
