The Kansas Insurance Department says it will hold a public hearing Nov. 5 to hear views about the sale of Coventry Health Care of Kansas, Inc., to Aetna, Inc.
The hearing will begin at 1 p.m. Nov. 5, at the Shawnee A Room of the Capitol Plaza Hotel Maner Conference Center, 1717 SW Topeka Boulevard in Topeka.
The hearing will include comments from Commissioner Sandy Praeger and company representatives, and comments from the public also will be heard.
Aetna announced in August that it planned to buy Coventry Health Care, Inc., for $7.3 billion.
Coventry operates in 26 states and the regulatory agencies of each of those states must approve the acquisition.
