The final candidate in a national search to find a new director for Wichita State University’s Ulrich Museum will speak on campus Monday.
Robert Workman, who is the director of the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan, will speak from 1 to 2 p.m. in 210 McKnight Art Center West. Admission is free.
Workman previously served as executive director of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark., and as associate director of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth.
The two other candidates already visited campus: Julien Robson from Philadelphia and David Brown from Winston-Salem, N.C.
All three candidates were asked to speak on the topic "What is the role of a university art museum in the 21st century?"
The museum is looking to replace former director Patricia McDonnell, who recently left the Ulrich to become the executive director of the Wichita Art Museum.
