He was so desperate for some prescription painkillers that he was willing to meet two strangers on a street corner Tuesday night.

But the transaction didn’t end well for him, police say.

The 48-year-old man was robbed of his wallet, cash and credit cards by the two men, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The robbery occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at Douglas and Edwards.

The suspects are both black men in their early to mid-20s, the victim told police. One had a light complexion and wore a white T-shirt, a tan hooded sweatshirt and blue jean shorts. The second suspect had a dark complexion, wore a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jean shorts and was armed with a handgun.
